Email accounts without two-step sign-in
An easy target for attackers. We set it up and show staff how it works.
Accountants, bookkeepers, agents and consultants handle sensitive client files every day. We keep their computers reliable and their data safer.
A bookkeeper's laptop has tax file numbers, bank details and payroll records. A real estate agent's phone has tenant information. When these devices go wrong, the problem is bigger than the inconvenience: it is trust.
Many small professional offices in Maylands run with a handful of computers, a printer-scanner and a cloud account or two. Nobody has an IT department, and the person who sets things up is usually whoever knows the most.
We help by making the basics solid: reliable computers, proper backups, two-step sign-in on email and sensible handling of scanned documents. We do not offer legal or compliance advice, but we can make the technology side easier to defend. Our cyber security page explains more.

A stolen password on its own is no longer enough to get into an account that has two-step sign-in. That one setting stops most of the account takeovers we see.
It takes a few minutes per person to set up. The inconvenience is small compared with a client email being used to send fake invoices.
If you have not turned it on for every staff member, it is the first thing we would suggest.
