The new internet is slower than the old one
Often the router is sitting in a cupboard or at the far end of the house. We move it, check the channel and see what is actually reaching your devices.
Just moved in, just started renting, or just sick of a laptop that takes ten minutes to wake up? We fix it at your door or in our Cloverdale workshop, and tell you the cost before we start.
Moving house is when computers tend to fall over. The router goes into a box nobody opens for a month, the printer forgets the network, and the old laptop that coped fine in the last place suddenly drops out every few minutes. If you have just landed in Ashfield, that is usually when we get the call.
We are a small Perth business based in Cloverdale, and a lot of our week is spent driving to homes like yours rather than asking you to haul a computer across town. Tell us what is playing up and we will say whether it is worth a visit, a quick remote session, or a trip to the workshop.
If it turns out to be a hardware problem, the fix is quoted in dollars before any parts are ordered. If it is not worth fixing, we say so. Our computer repairs page explains how that works in more detail.
Tell Us What's Wrong
These come up again and again when someone changes address. Most are quick once the cause is found.
Often the router is sitting in a cupboard or at the far end of the house. We move it, check the channel and see what is actually reaching your devices.
Every new network means a printer that needs reconnecting. We set it up properly and make sure every laptop in the house can find it.
A sluggish startup is usually an old hard drive or too many programs launching at once. We look at both before suggesting anything expensive.
We can copy documents, photos and browser bookmarks across to the new machine so nothing gets left behind in a box.
Shared houses see this a lot. We can split the network or limit what one device is allowed to hog.
Changed passwords and changed networks upset mail apps. We re-link them and check calendars as well.
We try to keep it simple enough to explain over the phone.
A short call or the booking form is enough. Mention how many devices are involved and when you are home.
Wi-Fi and printers are best done at the house. A laptop that will not power on is better in the workshop.
Nothing proceeds without a yes from you. When it is done, we test it with you before we leave.
Pick whichever matches. If you are not sure, ring and we will point you the right way.
Screens, batteries, charging ports, slow drives and machines that will not start. See laptop repairs for the full list.
Router placement, dead spots and slow speeds sorted properly. Details on our Wi-Fi setup page.
Accounts, email, updates and your old files moved over, so the new machine is ready to use on day one.
If your browser has started opening things you did not ask for, we clean the machine and show you what to avoid. More on virus removal.

If you are renting, check what the property already has before you order a plan. Some homes already have the connection point in a useful spot; others have it in the garage. Knowing that first saves a technician call later.
Take a photo of the back of your router before you unplug it. When the new one arrives you will thank yourself for knowing which cable went where.
And if you are not sure what speed you actually need, ask us. Most households do not need the top plan, and we would rather you spend that money on a better router.
You get the rate before we start, in writing if you want it.
Ring or message and we will tell you what we think it is and whether a visit is the right move.
One-hour minimum for a visit, then 30-minute blocks if the job runs on. No call-out fee on top.
For home offices and small businesses working from an Ashfield address. Same one-hour minimum, same 30-minute blocks.
Parts are quoted separately and approved by you first. The full list is on our pricing page.
The ones we hear most from Ashfield callers.
Tell us what is not working and when you are home. We will come back with a plan and a price.
