What to do right now
The first few minutes matter most
Switch it off straight away and unplug the charger. If the battery is removable, take it out. Don't turn it back on to see if it still works. Power running through a wet board is what causes the worst damage.
Tip it so the liquid can drain and mop up what you can with a dry cloth. Please don't use a hairdryer, and skip the bag of rice. Heat can damage parts, and rice doesn't pull liquid out of a circuit board.
Then call us. Liquid leaves residue that slowly corrodes the board, even after the surface looks dry. The sooner we open it up, the better the chance of saving it. Sugary drinks, milk and salt water are the worst.
