We start by finding the actual cause. Sometimes that's a clean-up and a few settings. Sometimes it's a virus. And often the best fix is swapping an old hard drive for an SSD, which can make an older laptop feel close to new.
If the machine really is at the end of its life, we'll tell you that too, and help move your files across to a new one.
